Ghanaian Fashion Brand Ameyo Fashion House Releases Spring/Summer 2016 Collection

I am a few days into the exams in school and it is not getting any better. I have so many projects to submit and shoots to style before the end of the semester. Well when the going gets tough the tough gets going (winks).

Few days ago I came across this Ghanaian Fashion ‘Ameyo’ and I absolutely fell in love with their SS16 collection. The brand caters to the modern and fashionable woman.

The collection which is a combination of pencil skirts, cut outs, high low shift dresses skater skirts, culottes and play suits which comes in floral fabrics and monochrome prints. The outfits sits perfectly on the models and makes an inspiring look for an everyday style.

I particularly like her taste in fabric and design but overall the collection seems pretty traditional with the same things we review everyday. Shift dresses, skirts and cut-outs constantly topping the list.

My favourite look  has to be the skater skirt over the pencil skirt, that is a look I look forward to trying on and seeing more ladies try on.

From Milan Fashion Week – Favourite Street Style Picks

Milan Fashion Week has come to an end for this cycle and while we enjoyed seeing the Fall 2016 collections from some of our favorite European designers; Giorgio Armani, Missoni, Versace, Prada to name a few, my attention was also on the images from the streets of Milan as residents and visitors to MFW showcased their style.

And there was lots to see! From neutral to bright and bold colours, prints, fur, blazers, leather, lace, sequins, denim, satchels, fringing, pom poms and more fashionable details there was plenty to please the eye and see up inspiration.

T.I Nathan Celebrates Richard Mofe Damijo As A Legend & Style Inspiration

T.I Nathan, menswear fashion designer celebrates Nollywood Veteran Richard Mofe Damijo, as a father, legend, multiple award winning actor, Icon and inspiration.

The creative director who took to his art to create images worthy of a legend had a few words to add to this celebration.

RMD is unarguably one of the most prominent actors in the history of Nollywood and the Nigerian entertainment industry. He also adds politician and commissioner for culture and tourism in Delta state as list of achievements under his umbrella, which goes ahead to explain the reason he is inspiring to us.

On Being Fashionable & Stylish

The creative director believes Richard Mofe Damijo is style inspiration to older men looking to keep up the good looks. He is a man with amazing style and with his distinctive taste in clothing, it is worthy of the celebration of a legend.

In the accompanying photo editorial, RMD looked every inch as described by Temitayo creative director of the T.I Nathan,  captured in a double lapel tuxedo paired with damask pants, matching pants and blazer, Damask jacket and a crisp white shirt paired with floral pants.

WHAT WAS SHE THINKING? – DENCIA IN HELLO KITTY

No one knows what Dencia was thinking when she showed up at the Grammy 2016 red carpet in a fully bejeweled Hello kitty pajamas onesie and her enormous  blonde Afro.

She completed the look with an embellished, spiked platform heels with pink stockings, pink cat eye glasses, pink leather gloves and Hello Kitty bows in her hair and actual plush Hello Kitty dolls on the onesie.

I could not ignore the huge extra-large pearl that sat on her chest.

She has always been so dramatic with her style when she hits the red carpets, like she has a deeply rooted need for her outfit to be talked about because of their outrageousness.  So we are not surprised about the fact she topped been the worst dressed for the night one more time.

RITA ORA & ADIDAS UNVEIL FIRST COLLABORATION OF 2016

Heyyy.

Its Friday and since I find myself making another shoe post on a Friday, I think I am going to make it a thing. I am going to come up with a cool name for it. Stay tuned to find out.

Now onto the business of the day. British Singer and Adidas favourite Rita Ora has unveiled her first collaboration of 2016. The Brand has announced that they would launch a collection called Asian Arena. The new line will be hitting stores on the 6th of February which is tomorrow.

The collection which is informed by the allure of the Japanese geisha offers street style kicks that  “are boldly restructured as a nod to the wide arms of the classic kimono and the origami-esque structure of the obi,” Adidas said in a statement.

Exotic prints of Oriental landscapes and other graphic touches are fused into the sneakers creating fashionable looks with boosts. Consisting of high tops, sporty trainers and the classic Stan Smiths in bright red, we certainly cannot wait for this collection to hit the stores.

DICE KAYEK INSPIRED BY FAIRY TALES FOR SPRING COUTURE SHOW

First of all let me add that I absolutely love this collection.

Ece Ege was all about structures and flair at the Spring Summer Paris Couture show. The creative designer of Dice Kayek intrigued me with the brands presentation of structural and yet simplistic form.

Her favorite form of literature was fairy tale and she called this the source of inspiration for this collection, reciting Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan and Little Red Riding Hood backstage during the show.

Cropped tops with maxi puff sleeves and extra-bouncy skirt, double breasted coats, sculpted bottoms, tailored pants, frilled hems were part of the offerings for this collection.

LOOK OF THE WEEK – PHARRELL IN NIGO X UNITED ARROWS

Pharrell knows how to make a statement and definitely knows how to stand out and that is exactly what he did at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. He was seen with his model/designer wife Helen L. While he was promoting his new movie Dope alongside the film’s stars Zoe lsabella Kravitz, Chanel Iman and A$AP Rocky.

He wore white pants, turned up at the ankle to reveal his socks,  and a white shirt under a nicely fitted blazer from Nigo x United Arrows Nigold Collection. His olive green newsboy hat and multi coloured stripy socks complimented the brightly coloured blazer which features the work of Japanese artist Eizin Suzuki.

He pulled it all off with his usual aplomb and for that this is the Look Of The Week.

MENSWEAR LABEL TZAR’S COLOURFUL JOY RIDE FOR RESORT 2015

African menswear label Tzar is vacation ready with their bright .. y   Resort 2015 collection called Joy Ride. Designer Ian Audifferen describes the collection as inspired by “the images, colours and sights beheld on a Joy ride during a holiday trip.”

His go-to monochrome patterns and pairings and contrasting  bright prints play across oversized t-shirts and sweatshirts with shorter length shorts and tapered but loose fit pants for a laid back, sporty feel.

Accessories are essential to giving an outfit that extra punch and they also come in handy when creating a signature look! The great thing about festivals is that they are a great place to experiment and try out all kinds of super cool pieces you might not ordinarily wear.

 Rings, Rings, Rings!

Guys have started to get accustomed to wearing rings, beyond the traditional wedding band, signet or school ring, so what are you waiting for? Put several rings on it!! ‘m literally obsessed with skull thumb rings (because I’m cool like that).

Bracelets

Bracelets might be the easiest accessory to pull off, Just pick a style and slip it on.

Sunglasses

Be it with Wayfarers, aviators or round retro frames, you have to protect your eyes from that sun. Black and tortoiseshell frames are classic but colour is fun, whatever the case just make sure the lens have a proper UV filter.

You don’t want to be that guy that walks with a whole bunch of things in his hands or pockets and this is where backpacks come in handy. They come in really stylish brands and sizes depending on your bulk load

Neckerchiefs

If you’re not the type of guy to wear a chain  then neckerchiefs might just be stylish option for you!
